Attention, fellow aviators! Get ready to witness a remarkable transformation at our beloved Auburn Airport (S50). Exciting upgrades are on the horizon, promising to elevate our flying experience to new heights of sophistication and safety. From April 29, 2024, to June 3, 2024, our runway will undergo a temporary closure to make way for a series of enhancements designed to enhance our time in and around the airport.

Here's what you can expect during this period of rejuvenation:

  1. Smooth Sailing Ahead: Prepare to glide down the runway like butter as they unveil a fresh pavement overlay and striping. Picture yourself cruising along like never before, reminiscent of the exhilarating sensation of riding a bike on pristine asphalt.

  2. Navigational Advancements: Say goodbye to magnetic confusion as the runway headings are adjusted to align with current magnetic variation with new headings of 17-35 .

  3. Taxiway Tune-Up: Taxiway Alpha will receive some much-needed TLC with crack sealing, patching, and a topping fog seal. Say farewell to bumpy rides and hello to smooth, seamless taxiing.

  4. Brighter Horizons: Bid adieu to outdated VASIs as we usher in the era of new PAPI lights on the east side of the runway. Enhanced visibility means safer landings for all.

  5. Safety First: The south end of the runway will undergo re-grading for enhanced safety, accompanied by the installation of new fencing.

  6. Illuminate Your Path: Step into the future with confidence as they introduce new LED taxiway lighting. With improved visibility, nighttime navigation will be a breeze.

  7. Runway Approach: Then in July, a new 400-1 Instrument Approach will be installed for Runway 35, to guide your popping-out-of-the-clouds right on target.

As we set sail on this transformative journey, we invite you to stay tuned for updates and announcements. Get ready to take flight with confidence, because at Auburn Airport, the future of aviation is brighter than ever before.
